Requests for repeat prescriptions cannot be accepted by telephone to avoid any possible errors.
Instead you may hand your request in at the surgery, send on email or on line or by post. To order online please register for this service. Patients can request a log in and password from Reception. Please call in and ask the Receptionist for this access log on.
Please allow 2 working days (48 hours) for your repeat prescription to be processed.
We are pleased to offer our eligible patients Repeat Dispensing which means that 6 months' worth of repeat prescriptions are sent to the nominated pharmacy in one go. The repeat medication is ready to collect from the nominated pharmacy each month as usual but the need to request the repeat medication on a monthly basis is eliminated.
We will be promoting this service at your annual medication review but please enquire before if this is something that would interest you.
Extensive exemption and remission arrangements protect those likely to have difficulty in paying charges (NHS prescription and dental charges, optical and hospital travel costs). The NHS prescription charge is a flat-rate amount which successive Governments have thought it reasonable to charge for those who can afford to pay for their medicines. Prescription prepayment certificates (PPCs) offer real savings for people who need extensive medication.
These charges apply in England only. In Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales prescriptions are free of charge.
If you will have to pay for four or more prescription items in three months, or more than 14 items in 12 months, you may find it cheaper to buy a PPC.
There is further information about prescription exemptions and fees on the NHS website
Please allow 48 working hours, excluding weekends and Bank Holidays, for your request to be processed. Any problems please telephone the surgery 01245 328855
